BLAZING 500’s DIRECTIVE (RULES)
OVERVIEW
The “Blazing 500’s Promotion” offers Player’s Club members who have submitted entries into the “Play It Again ™” program a chance to win five hundred dollar ($500) prizes every hour for a limited time period. The “Blazing 500’s Promotion” promotion is an added bonus to participants entering the “Play It Again ™” program.
- DEFINITIONS as used in this directive.
- Bureau - means the Bureau of State Lottery.
- Commissioner - means the Commissioner of State Lottery or any other person to whom the Commissioner's authority is lawfully delegated.
- Player’s Club - means the Bureau’s Internet-based VIP Club.
- Play It Again – means the Bureau’s program where Player’s Club members can enter eligible tickets into a second chance drawing to win a $1,000,000 annuitized grand prize.
- EST – means Eastern Standard Time.
- Entry Period – means the period of time between July 13, 2012 beginning at 1:00 pm EST and ending August 3, 2012 at 8:59 am EST during which Player’s Club members may earn entries that are used for the “Blazing 500’s Promotion” drawings.
- Drawing Period – means the period of time between July 13, 2012 beginning at 2:00 pm EST and ending on August 3, 2012 at 9:00 am EST.
- Retailer – means a person, or entity, that has been licensed by the Bureau to sell lottery tickets under the Lottery Act.
- HOW TO ENTER
- To earn entries into the “Blazing 500’s Promotion” players will need to meet all requirements and follow all procedures outlined in Directive 20.MKM.10.49.0 to earn entries into the “Play It Again” program.
- Each valid “Play It Again” entry earned during the Entry Period will be used as the drawing pool to randomly select “Blazing 500’s Promotion” winners.
- ELIGIBILITY
All participants must be a resident of the state of Michigan and a Player’s Club member to be eligible for this promotion, excluding Bureau employees or any officer or employee of any contractor or subcontractor of the Bureau who has access to information that is not readily available to the public, or any spouse, child, brother, sister or parent residing as a member of the same household of the restricted individual.
- DETERMINATION OF WINNERS
- Five hundred (500) drawings will be conducted to randomly selected one (1) winner each hour to receive a five hundred dollar ($500) prize during the Drawing Period, as represented in the following schedule where all times are in EST:

The Bureau will make reasonable effort to announce any changes at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to the first affected drawing.
- A player may only be selected as a winner one (1) time during the “Blazing 500’s Promotion” promotion.
- Any entries collected during the Entry Period are eligible for all drawings with the exception of entries submitted by a player that are selected as the winner in a previous hourly drawing.
- All drawings will be conducted by a randomized computer drawing process managed by ePrize, LLC.
- Any delays in drawings resulting from technical failures, acts of nature, or other unforeseen circumstances may be conducted by other means, to be specified by the Bureau, until all five hundred (500) winners have been selected.
- Alternate entries will not be selected for any drawings.
- All valid entries in any single drawing will have an equal chance of being selected.
- The odds of being selected as a winner depends on the number of entries received for the drawing.
- The Bureau will send an automated email to the winner’s email address provided in his or her Player’s Club membership account information. The email will contain a printable barcode that can be paid at any Michigan Lottery retailer, Bureau office or authorized payment center in order to claim and receive the five hundred dollar ($500) prize.
- Each winner’s name and city will be posted on the Michigan Lottery’s website(s) and possibly the Michigan Lottery’s Facebook page after each drawing is completed.
- Five hundred (500) drawings will be conducted to randomly selected one (1) winner each hour to receive a five hundred dollar ($500) prize during the Drawing Period, as represented in the following schedule where all times are in EST:
- CLAIMING PRIZES/REDEMPTION
- Winners will receive an automated email at the email address that is registered to their Player’s Club account.
- Winners will need to print the barcode and instructions contained in the automated email, and must visit an authorized Michigan Lottery retailer, Bureau office or authorized payment center in order to claim their prize and receive the five hundred dollar ($500) prize. The barcode can only be redeemed one (1) time and is a bearer’s instrument that will be paid to the holder at the time of redemption.
- All prizes must be redeemed by September 30, 2012 or the prize will expire and no longer be valid.
- RETAILERS
- Retailers can cash prizes associated with this promotion by following the same procedure to validate an Instant Game ticket using the Altura terminal.
- Retailers will earn the usual two-percent (2%) Instant Games cashing commission for validating any prizes associated with this promotion.
- GOVERNING LAW
- All decisions made by the Commissioner including prize declaration and prize distribution are final and binding on every person making a claim.
- This promotion in no way alters the Bureau’s other directives except as provided herein.
- This promotion is subject to Lottery rules, directives, state law, and any prospective and uniform changes thereof.
- DISCLAIMER
The only basis for a valid claim is compliance with Michigan law, the lottery statute, lottery rules and directives. No claim may be premised on human, electronic, or other error in the communication, display or transmission of data, however recorded, displayed, or transmitted. No claim can be premised upon any intentional human, electronic or other form of communication or transmission of data, which has not been authorized by the Commissioner.
- PROGRAM CHANGES AND TERMINATION
With reasonable notice, the Commissioner may announce a change to, or the end of, this promotion at any time.
