How to Play
Choose Your Number
Pick any 3-digit number on panel A of the play slip.
One panel equals one play.
You can play up to 5 panels per play slip.
If you don't want to choose your own numbers, mark "Easy Pick" on the play slip and the computer will randomly pick your numbers.
Choose Your Wager
You can wager either $.50 or $1.
Choose How You Play
Play it Straight
When the number the Lottery draws matches the number you picked in exactly the same order, you win $500 on a $1 bet or $250 on a $.50 bet.
Odds of winning: 1 in 1000
Play it Boxed
When the number the Lottery draws matches your number in any order, you win. The amount you win depends on the digits you choose -- the less possible combinations, the more you win.
When you box your bet, the 3-way or 6-way bets are determined by the total number of potential combinations for those digits.
A number with two of the three digits the same (for example: 455) will be considered a 3-way boxed bet with three possible combinations. If it matches the winning number drawn in any order, you win $166 on a $1 bet or $83 on a $.50 bet.
Odds of winning: 1 in 333
If the number you select has three different digits (for example: 456), it will be a 6-way boxed bet since there are six different combinations possible. You can win $83 on a $1 bet or $41 on a $.50 bet.
Odds of winning: 1 in 167
Play it Wheeled
A wheel bet offers the easiest way to place a straight wager on each possible combination of the number you select. Your total bet will depend upon how many combinations there are.
For example, a number with two of the three digits the same will have three different combinations. A $1 wheel bet will, in turn, cost $3. A $.50 wheel bet will come to $1.50. If the number you select has three different digits, there will be six possible combinations.
If the number the Lottery draws matches the number you picked -- in any order -- you will win $500 on a $1 wheel bet. On a $.50 wheel bet, you will win $250.
Play it Two-Way
Two-way betting is really two games in one. Your $1 wager is split -- $.50 straight and $.50 boxed. With a two-way bet, you collect on both the straight and boxed set when the number drawn matches your number in exact order. Two-way bets can only be placed on $1 wagers.
If your number has two of its three digits the same, the boxed portion of your winnings will be increased since the number of possible combinations is decreased.
If your number matches the number drawn in any order – but not in the exact order shown – you will still collect on the boxed half of your bet.
Two Drawings a Day, Seven Days a Week
When you've filled out your play slip, take it to any Daily 3 retailer with the amount of the wager. Your numbers will be entered in the next drawing and you will receive a game ticket.
ALWAYS check your ticket(s) before leaving the terminal to ensure dates, numbers and drawings are printed exactly as you requested.
Daily 3 tickets are available up to seven days in advance of any specific drawing date. You can play the Daily 3 game for up to 60 consecutive drawings. Just mark the number of drawings you want in the multiple-draw wagers area on the play slip.
The Daily 3 pool closes before both the mid-day and evening drawings. You must make your mid-day wagers before 12:39 p.m. and your evening wagers before 7:08 p.m. the day of the drawing.

Tax Information on Michigan Lottery Prizes
Michigan Lottery prizes are subject to federal, state and local income taxes. You may be required to make estimated tax payments by filing a form 1040ES with the Internal Revenue Service. If you have questions regarding income tax, please contact the Internal Revenue Service at (800) 829-1040, the Michigan Department of Treasury at (517) 636-4486, or your local taxing authority.
The Michigan Lottery provides winning Lottery clubs with a blank Substitute 5754 form. Lottery clubs must submit a completed Substitute 5754 form at time of prize payment.
- Substitute 5754 form (BSL-A-2164)
- Instructions for Substitute 5754 form (BSL-A-2164-Instructions)
- Instructions on how to form a lottery club
All winners claiming individual prizes of more than $600 will receive a W-2G form at time of prize payment for the purposes of completing their yearly tax return.
Following are some additional facts on Lottery withholding guidelines:
Prizes up to $600: The Lottery does not withhold any taxes.
Prizes from $601 to $5,000: The Lottery does not withhold any taxes but is required to report the winnings to the IRS and Michigan Department of Treasury. The winner will then be required to report the income in the tax year it is claimed.
Prizes over $5,000: For any Michigan Lottery prize over $5,000, the Lottery is generally required to withhold an estimated 25 percent in federal tax and 4.25 percent in state tax. These withholdings do not necessarily satisfy a winner's tax liability; they are simply estimates. We recommend that all winners contact the IRS, Michigan Department of Treasury and trusted tax professionals to determine whether additional tax payments will be required.
Non-Michigan U.S. residents: All prizes over $5,000 are subject to 25 percent federal tax and 4.25 percent state tax withholding regardless of the state of residence. Questions regarding this state tax withholding should be directed to the Michigan Department of Treasury, taxpayer assistance division.
Non-U.S. residents: Players who win a Michigan Lottery prize greater than $600 and do not live in the United States are subject to a 30 percent federal tax withholding rate as well as the 4.25 percent state withholding rate.
